This beautiful home in Prescott Lakes originally had tile throughout the living room, halls and kitchen, but carpet in the bedrooms. To install a new LVP floor throughout all areas with no height change we prepped and skim-coated the tile, then installed concrete backer board in the bedrooms where carpet and pad had been to bring that subfloor flush to the tile in the hallways. Then we installed new LVP over top of everything. The final flooring is not just beautiful but quieter under foot than tile, waterproof, and durable for all kinds of traffic (dogs especially!).
